Will Lack Of Water Cause Hemorrhoids?

Okay, hi there again and welcome to another article from www.how-to-cure-hemorrhoids.com. OK, I have had a couple of readers sending emails lately wondering if dehydration can affect hemorrhoids and so I thought I’d make a quick video on it and have a quick look at it, and we’re going to get that question answered.

Ok, so the first question that I need to ask is what causes hemorrhoids? First major thing that causes hemorrhoids is constipation. Basically, constipation makes you strain and the act of straining increases the flow of blood into the veins around the rectum which causes hemorrhoids, so that’s one of the major causes of hemorrhoids.

Another one is dehydration. basically, lack of fluids in the body causes dry, compact stools which are difficult to pass, which understandably cause constipation which in turn puts pressure on the rectum which causes inflammation of the anal veins which again causes hemorrhoids. And lastly, chronic diarrhea is also a major cause of hemorrhoids. Chronic diarrhea over time causes dehydration. Diarrhea creates a spastic motion which adds pressure to the rectum. This will cause straining. And of course, dehydration as previously noted can eventually cause dry, compact stools. It sounds like the opposite of diarrhea but in reality diarrhea causes dehydration and eventually, we will get inflammation of the anal veins that causes hemorrhoids.

Now, now that we’ve looked at it, it’s clear that dehydration must play a big part in hemorrhoids. So another question is what causes dehydration and is there a way I can] prevent this from happening? First one is most people don’t drink enough water; it’s basic. Most people don’t drink enough water and I think most people are aware that they don’t drink enough water. Instead, they try to replace it with soft drinks, coffees and teas, that sort of stuff.

Also exercising without taking on water, that is a cause of dehydration. Drinking caffeinated beverages such as coffee or green tea or colas or soft drinks, they have ingredients that will cause dehydration. You may think, “Well, I’m taking on lots of fluids here,” but you’ll also notice that you go to the toilet a lot more. And the fact is that if you’re urinating more than usual, you may be losing water. And things like caffeinated drinks like coffee, green tea, tea, cola, these contain caffeine which is actually a diuretic, which means you’re going to pass more fluids and you’ll in fact be dehydrating yourself. I know that doesn’t sound that logical, but that’s the way that caffeine works. Caffeine causes you to dehydrate.

Another major contributor to dehydration is drinking alcohol. Drinking alcohol causes dehydration. It is not uncommon for someone to get their first cases of hemorrhoids after a really big night out on the beers or wines. There are clear links between drinking alcohol and hemorrhoids.

So now we can ask “How much water should I drink?” Well, I mean there are no real hard and fast rules but the rules of some that I certainly go by is to drink approximately two liters of water per day. For an easy way to manage this, when you wake up in the morning, have your first glass of water and then set your watch to ring an alarm every hour. All you then do is quickly grab a glass of water, drink it down, and if you do that all through the day, you’ll have trouble NOT drinking two liters per day.

This isn’t meant to be difficult. Remember it won’t benefit you to just gulp down a liter in the morning and then slam down a liter in the later on at night. It’s actually far better if you drink water regularly on an hourly basis.

So I guess the big question to answer is “Does dehydration actually cause hemorrhoids?” Well, there is a clear correlation and drinking water will soften up the stool and make it easy to pass. We can see that avoiding dehydration is good for constipation, but it also has a host of other benefits. Drinking water can help with weight loss. It is absolutely necessary for the body to have water to help the clearing of toxins.

Look, at the end of the day, it’s clear you should be drinking more water, and dehydration is a major factor in getting hemorrhoids. And it’s not that hard to control hemorrhoids and certainly drinking water is one of the major first steps that everyone needs to take.
